OHU50K NOTES
History of Greensfelder Mansion
This is the home of the Greensfelder family, a prominent Logansport family who owned a commercial building in town (since demolished). They built the home on a double lot in a highly visible spot in Logansport near other mansions.
The Queen Anne exterior needs the most work, but you can still visualize what the wrap-around porch, second floor balcony, classic detailing and slate roof must have looked like in its day.
All I can say is, “Wow!” as far as the interior goes. Mosaic tiled floors, Lincrusta wainscot, pocket doors, high ceilings with “wedding cake” embellishment, inlaid wood floors to make it look mosaic, gorgeous bathroom tile, servant’s staircase, built-in china closet and bedroom wardrobes, period lighting fixtures, clawfoot tub, leaded glass windows and several stunning fireplaces…the list goes on.
