Save this old house. In celebration of National Preservation Month, we feature this once stately home, a foreclosure, on a corner lot a tree-lined street in Bridgeton, New Jersey. The neighborhood looks so inviting with its lovely older homes, but looks can be deceiving.
Although, this home is on the right side of the river as far as crime goes, Bridgeton has crime issues. I have spent some time in Bridgeton going to yard sales and restaurants and have admired the city’s beautiful architecture. The city of 24,000 is only 60 minutes to the Jersey Shore, but you would have to weigh beach vs. crime.
By the way, disregard the realtor’s build date. The home is decades older. He does break down some of the home’s exterior issues, though.

This home has tons of character and charm. It is located close to main roads with easy access to local amenities.
This property will not last. EXT- paint peeling throughout. Front: Steps/railing + porch stairs in need of work, partial holes in soffits/fascias, roof need work, porch railing missing partial wall some paint peeling on porch ceiling and column. However, the property is still a great opportunity to be had.
