This Camelot Cruiser Motorhome is an auction and part of our “Cheap-ish” series, current bid $1200,000 with 5 days left. Take at look at this groovy motorhome located in Osprey, Florida, that could make a permanent residence somewhere for a Twiggy channeler! When it was new back in 1974 it went for around $150,000, which with adjusted inflation is around $1,032,921 in todays money.
This 1974 Ford C-750 truck and Gerstenlager trailer were outfitted as a Camelot Cruiser motorhome by Edler & Company of Skokie, Illinois. The pair is said to have remained in long-term storage and was subsequently recommissioned before being acquired by the selling dealer in November 2022. Power is from a 391ci V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, and both the truck and trailer are finished in two-tone green. The truck is equipped with a chrome front bumper, 22.5″ steel wheels, air-assisted brakes, dual air horns, a CB radio, a sleeping surface, and an intercom system. The trailer features woodgrain paneling, a kitchenette, a dinette, a bedroom with a double bed, a bathroom, a sitting room, and two basement cargo compartments. Service under prior ownership reportedly involved overhauling the carburetor, cleaning and coating the fuel tanks, repacking the wheel bearings, and replacing the fuel pump, ignition components, tires, wheels, shock absorbers, brake air reservoirs, trailer suspension air bags, and shore hookup power cord. This C-750 and Camelot Cruiser trailer are now offered in Osprey, Florida, with a pair of Poloron snowmobiles, clean Montana titles for the truck and trailer, and a bill of sale for the snowmobiles.
The truck and trailer are finished in two-tone green with Camelot Cruiser graphics. The truck is equipped with a fifth-wheel hitch, a chrome front bumper, a split windshield, towing mirrors, and dual air horns. Rust is present on the truck and trailer body panels.
Steel 22.5″ wheels are wrapped in 11R22.5 Ironman tires that are said to have been installed within the past year. Stopping power is provided by air-assisted brakes, and the trailer rides on an air suspension system. Service performed under previous ownership in 2022 involved repacking the wheel bearings and replacing the wheels, shock absorbers, brake air reservoirs, air hoses, brake adjuster cams, trailer suspension air bags, and shore hookup power cord.
The cabin features a bench seat upholstered in black vinyl along with a matching dash pad, body-color sheet metal, and a black rubber floor liner. Features include a sleeping surface behind the bench seat, a CB radio, a glove box, an AM radio, and an intercom system for communicating with passengers in the trailer. The roof-mounted cab air conditioner does not work.
The three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a 100-mph speedometer along with gauges for air pressure, battery charge, fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 32k miles, approximately 400 of which were added under current ownership.
The 391ci V8 sends power to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Service performed under prior ownership in 2022 reportedly involved overhauling the carburetor, cleaning and coating the fuel tanks, and replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, spark plugs, ignition wires, distributor cap, and rotor.
The trailer cabin features a walk-through floorplan with woodgrain paneling, sculptured carpeting, curtains, a roof-top air conditioner, storage cabinets, and a booth-style dinette with yellow tufted upholstery and panoramic windows. The kitchenette is equipped with a double-basin porcelain sink, a four-burner gas cooktop, and a Dometic refrigerator/freezer. Two basement cargo compartments are located beneath the living quarters.
The rear sitting area is outfitted with a sofa, a chair, a coffee table, a side cabinet, a wall sconce, and three sliding windows. The central bedroom features a double bed and a faux masonry accent wall.
The bathroom is equipped with a vanity, double sinks, a mirror, a shower, and a toilet.
The two Poloron snowmobiles are finished in green and can be stowed in the basement cargo compartment beneath the trailer.
