OHU50K NOTES
Beautiful Ohio River setting, but the house is a mess. The house doesn’t look half as bad in the 2018 Google Map street view, and some beautiful houses are on the street. In fact, OHU50K featured the antebellum house next door back in April 2020. (I don’t understand why both houses have the same address, however.) It appears the road floods, but the house may be high enough up to avoid flooding. Do you think it is worth saving?
History
The home was rented by the Larkin family from the 1920s until the mid 1970s. In 1930 the rent was $15/month. John Larkin, a road maintenance man, and Anna Folley Larkin, lived here with their children Margaret, Elizabeth, Ann, John Jr. and Edward.

There can’t possibly be anything structurally sound in this entire house and I can’t believe it’s not condemned. The question is, is the property worth $9k. Is there river front access on the property? Too many questions.

I want this house so bad. It seems to speak to me. Oh for youth time and money it would be mine

I’m sorry but structurally sound or not, if you don’t look at this house and something inside of you just SCREAM out YES, YES, YES as a woman…you aren’t a true red-blooded American in my opinion. I can just picture myself in black & white film with my Bonnet full of Bees standing in that kitchen because I’ve just burned myself baking biscuits, while holding an infant in my left arm and a toddler clinging onto my right leg. My face all smiles staying positive for those children while my heart a puddle of tears missing their daddy whose off fighting to Save the South. Oh the endless joy it would be to restore this gem! Even if you had to rebuild foundation UP!
