Fixer Upper Gothic Revival in Greene, NY Under $70K

I was so excited when I saw first saw this wonderful Gothic Revival home listed for sale in Greene, New York. First, let me say that the realtor’s 1807 build date seems too early to me. The Gothic Revival style saw its popularity from 1840-1880. Regardless, the decorative trusses at the apex of the gable and the indented balcony are simply stunning. I am amazed that the dripping with deliciousness gable details are still intact. The porch supports and double front doors are equally gorgeous.

The interior excited me less. It definitely needs plenty of cleaning up and fixing up. The neighborhood is beautiful, however, with architectural gems that call my name. Take a look at the Google Street Map view, and your head will be on a swivel admiring the house and churches on both sides of the street.

I just love this house, It’s beautiful. A lot of elbow grease to bring her back, but I think well worth it. I don’t think it’s worth the asking price, with so much to be done (leaking roof, floors are a hot mess!) but whoever gets it will have a diamond in the rough.
