A stone Greek Revival! Greek Revivals are one of my favorite architectural styles, and this one has those fabulous floor-to-ceiling windows that are actually doors. The home also boasts some hardwood floors, original staircase, updated kitchen and bath and central air. A bit of TLC is in order, but the home is in move-in ready condition.

In the 1990s we put an offer on a grand old Greek Revival that was untouched by time in Shaftsbury, Vermont. It had the same windows, huge rooms, a cistern in the attic, an amazing original kitchen and pantry all covered with black soot because the 90-year-old owner had been heating each room with coal. I was heart broken when we didn’t get the house.

Fifteen years later, now owning a foursquare in Cape May, NJ, we received a gift from a friend for a meal at the Red Barn Restaurant in South Jersey. While waiting for the meal, I began reading a magazine left there. Lo and behold, there was a spread about the Shaftsbury house! The owners had restored it, keeping all the original features, and it looked amazing.
