OHU50K NOTES

This sweet handyman special is located in a beautiful area of  rural Tennessee called Lancing. It sits on a lush green 0.85 acre with a garage and picnic pavilion opposite a white country church on one side and a newer church on another. The home will need work, but the setting may be worth it. The home is in Tennessee after all, a state whose real estate market is getting hotter as we speak.

Lancing History

The town, originally settled in the 1860s, was originally known as Kismet. In 1879, the Cincinnati Southern Railway built a rail line through the region calling the Kismet rail station Lancing. The post office adopted that name to the community in 1894. By the time our featured home was built, Lancing was home to a store, hotel, two churches, and two saloons. I don’t believe the store and saloons are still around, but the churches are and the hotel has been converted into a beautiful home. You can see it on the right in the town photo below.

It has had a few updates over the years to include vinyl windows and central heat/air. Unfinished attic space provides potential. The homes age of construction is unknown as well as the tax rate. Outside you have a very nice level lot with detached block garage, covered dining area and gazebo. Additionally, there is a second unused septic tank in the open field area.
