3 Third St, South Dayton, NY 14138
$19,900 Reduced to $15,000 ~ Sold for $15k
OHU50K NOTES
This c.1920 brick fixer upper foreclosure in South Dayton, New York, is one of those old houses that just inspire me to gather up my tools and set to work. In my mind’s eye, I see how glorious it can become.
Set on a corner lot in a virtual no-crime neighborhood of older homes, the house is chock full of natural woodwork. The absence of kitchen photos indicates a new kitchen is most likely needed and New York taxes are high, but my creative juices are flowing with this one.

$38,000 REDUCED to $36,750 ~ Sold for $18k
OHU50K NOTES
Such a beautiful home! This c.1919 handyman special in Leaf River, Illinois, has a long list of original elements. I love the intricate work on the staircase and built-ins. I’m also keen on the tile and wood wainscoting in the kitchen.
The owner has a large amount of materials that will be left with the property, so new owners will be ahead of the game. Lovely neighborhood, too. Just imagine it with a more creative exterior paint job.

209 W Pierce St, Winters, TX 79567 $50,000 ~ Sold
OHU50K NOTES
Ten bedrooms in less than 2,000 square feet? That seems hard to believe, however, it is not hard to believe that this c.1947 fixer upper could be a great deal with some TLC. Located in Winters, Texas, about 40 minutes outside of Abilene, the exterior of the home has most of the charm bungalow lovers admire. The interior has hardwood floors, quirky built-ins, tiled fireplace and a pink tiled bathroom. What I really love? The original kitchen cupboards and how about that vintage linoleum?

Located in a low crime neighborhood, this c.1885 fixer upper Queen Anne in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, sits on a lovely tree-lined street of similar older homes. This home sure has curb appeal. Add some landscaping, and the exterior would be near perfect. The interior is a project, but I would keep that extraordinary dining room wallpaper.

806 N Jackson St, Clinton, IL 61727 $42,000 ~ Sold for $40k
OHU50K Notes
OHU50K first featured this home back in November 2018 when it was listed at $48,900. The c.1910 fixer upper in Clinton, Illinois, went off market and has now been relisted at $42,000.
Can you imagine this house with new vibrant paint colors and a few plants in the garden? The realtor comments below outline all the great features this home has to offer.
I was struck by the sink in the bedroom. Living at the Jersey Shore, there was always a demolition sale going on in the Wildwoods or Ocean City. My husband salvaged a sink much like this one for our 1915 kitchen, except it had legs. I loved it but for the fact it was an extremely shallow 4″ deep basin. With no dishwasher and seven kids, I opted instead for a new, deep double stainless steel model.

2019 REALTOR COMMENTS
Take charge and bring life back into this old house. Although this fixer upper may be old and worn out around some edges, it still has beauty, strong bones, lots of character, and can be dressed up inside and outside for everyone to talk about.
The foyer is stunning and shows off an open staircase with original, gorgeous woods. Lots of original woodwork, some original light fixtures and door hardware are in place including two sets of working pocket doors. A second staircase to the upstairs is visible from the upstairs hallway leading down to a closed off kitchen wall. A downstairs door was taken away to enlarge the kitchen but could be converted back.
Some water lines have been updated to service the first floor. Walk up attic. Although this is a small lot, the home has a large covered porch, large living/bedroom areas and tons of square footage. Bring your tape measure, calculator, imagination and the desire to restore a Victorian home in Clinton. Sold as is
2018 Realtor Comments
Large, spacious home for the fixer upper. Large bedrooms upstairs, and large rooms on the main floor. A bedroom upstairs will accommodate furniture in the absence of a closet. A room on the main floor was used as a bedroom with the addition of a small closet. Foyer entry and the sturdy, strong and stunning open staircase with original, gorgeous woodwork is still grand. Original woodwork, some original light fixtures and door hardware are in place including two sets of working pocket doors.

1000 Georgia St, Louisiana, MO 63353
$50,000 REDUCED to $45,200 ~ Off Market
OHU50K NOTES
We’ve had this fixer upper in Louisiana, Missouri, before. It’s a wonder it has not been snatched up. OHU50K featured the fixer upper a year ago when it was listed at $50,000. It has now been reduced to $45,200. Some of the work has begun on this beautiful c.1880 Queen Anne fixer upper. It’s located in the old riverboat town of Louisiana, Missouri, a town that has suffered flooding from the Mighty Mississippi in years past. The house itself, however, is well within Zone X, an area of minimal flood hazard.
Louisiana has a wonderful historic district that starts a little further down Georgia Street. Check out Google Maps to view the lovely, low crime neighborhood of older homes.

I’m in love with this fairy tale fixer upper in Padukah, Kentucky! From the stone and brick work to the built-ins and black and white kitchen, this brick beauty brings us back to a once upon a time when the best materials were used to construct a family home. Even the brackets on the facade of the garage are lovely. Add in low taxes, relatively low crime and a pleasant neighborhood, and $40K seems like a great deal.

FAIRY TALE FIXER UPPER IN NEED OF SOME MAGIC! This fairy tale home needs someone to bring it back to life. It has had families in it for years, but has been left alone too long. This little cottage needs some hard work and a vision, but it has amazing potential. Arched doorways, wood-burning fireplace for the winter nights coming up, this home can provide a new family with new memories. With a partial basement and large rooms upstairs, this home offers numerous options for renovation and new layouts. Do not let this home disappear into Neverland.
