Gothic Revival houses were popular between 1840 and 1870. The high-speed mechanical scroll saw, wisely used by the 1840s, made producing ornate ornamentation much easier. This c.1869 Gothic Revival doesn’t have much in the way of gingerbread, but I love the finials and the slate roof! Inside, that bathtub and arched doors are wonderful, too.
Berlin is a quaint hamlet with some lovely older homes. You will like the fact that the area has virtually no crime. You may not like the real estate taxes, but for New York State, $255 per month is not bad.
Gothic Revival home features enclosed entry to a curved stairway entry hall. Formal LR on one side and family RM/TV area opposite. 1st floor also features DR, Kit, full bath, office and enclosed back porch. Up the curved stairway is 3 BD & full bath. Original woodwork, high ceilings and beautiful wood doors make this home special. Motivated sellers, make an offer!
