OHU50K NOTES
One doesn’t expect to find a neoclassical house, fixer upper or not, in the middle of cornfields and pumpkin patches, but here we have one outside of Granite City, Illinois. Built in 1890, the impressive property has many original elements still intact as well as 1.1 acre and a wonderful barn.
I couldn’t find too much information on the home, other than it is now a foreclosure owned by Master Participation Trust of Oklahoma City. It is odd, because all of the land for miles around the one-acre plot is owned by Relleke Farms. The popular Relleke Farms and Pumpkin Patch is a family farm owned by the same family since the late 1890s. That would coincide with the build date of our house today.
Also, if you look on the street view of Google Map, you will see two houses just down the road owned by the Rellekes. I am surmising that the original Farmer Relleke owned the 1890 neoclassical, his son then built the 1930s bungalow, and his grandson perhaps the 1960s brick ranch.
