OHU50K NOTES

This off-grid property may not have utilities, but who cares when you have these spectacular water views?! As the realtor states, it can always be developed with regular or off-grid amenities. The property is simply fabulous! I call it the Tickle Cove version of Tintagel (King Arthur’s hangout on the Devonshire coast; another spectacular place).

REALTOR COMMENTS

Ocean front paradise at the end of Tickle Cove, sits a traditional saltbox off-grid house dating back to 1896. In this remote fishing village on Bonavista Bay NL, the property sits on 6 parcels of land, approximately 2 acres in total.

A second building, the red cabin is an added bonus at the entrance of the property ideal for use as a studio, workshop or even as a guest house.

Nestled in a romantic landscape with the Ocean at your doorstep, the main house has a hip roof, traditional beaded corner boards and wooden clapboard that is in great condition. Main level of the house features kitchen, living room and second bedroom. Second level features a large bedroom. Each room boasts decor of yester years that adds charm and ambiance.

Most striking feature is the exquisite location of the house and cabin connected to a private beach with its dramatic views, crashing waves, soaring birds and breathtaking sunsets. Area is rich with fresh air, wilderness, icebergs and wild berries. The location is private, the last house on a lane with coastal trails, yet easy to get there by car. One of the 6 parcels is a separate plot with panoramic ocean views that could house a brand new structure to your liking. Possibilities are endless.

Recently the filming site of The Grand Seduction, the Bonavista Peninsula has been featured in the New York Times as a local foodie destination known for its traditional culture. In July 2020 the area received special designation as a UNESCO Geopark. The Arch in Tickle Cove is one of the 10 official Geosites; a remarkable sight to behold.

This charming oasis, with no running water or power, can be developed into a comfortable home with regular or off-the-grid amenities. It is a natural retreat off the beaten path where the sights and sounds will transport you back in time. This special place which includes an historic house, a cabin and a separate private lot, will appeal to the adventurous and has the potential to be an exclusive retreat by the sea!
