This was the home of Judge Sam Parks (1873-1949), a Native American who served as attorney for Cherokee County, Oklahoma, and later as County Judge. Judge Parks also was a principal-teacher at the Orphan Asylum in Vinita, former mayor of Vinita and a State Legislature for two terms. At the time he was living at this house, Judge Parks was divorced. He died in Florida but was buried in the Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.
