This home was built for Elias Lott, his wife Tempie, daughters Della, Ella and Allie and a servant. Elias apparently inherited a farm outside of town and had his own money to hire laborers to work the farm.

Tempie had died sometime between 1920 and 1930 and the two older daughters married and moved away. That left Elias living in the house with his youngest daughter Allie, her husband James Jardine and their two children, James Jr. and William until the mid-1930s.
