History

This wonderful brick building was built in 1915 as the Farmer Bank of Oak Hall, Virginia. It stood proudly in the community until it closed its doors in March 1927, a couple of years before the Great Depression.

The structure is one of the original Railroad Banks on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, and is one of the few still standing today. Like its twin down the highway, the building has been renovated as a vacation rental. You can find it on AirBnb. It currently rents for $115 per night. Located just 20 minutes from the wild ponies and ocean beaches of Chincoteague, this might make a good investment.
