OHU50K NOTES

What an amazing house! This c.1923 fixer upper not only has gorgeous details throughout, but the property comes with a 1/1 guest house. I don’t know what element of the house is my favorite – the front door entrance, hardwood floors, all the windows or the yellow kitchen!

Architectural Details

This amazing home is located on a street of wonderful old residences in the Morningside Historic District. The district gains part of its distinction from its historical association with home owners who were prominent in the oil business. Additionally, the district is a showcase of architectural styles from 1918-1935.
The National Register of Historic Places calls this home a Colonial Revival.  It is a two-story, brick, rectangular-plan dwelling with composition-shingle gable roof and 6-over-1 sash windows. It features a semi-circular, columned portico entrance, stone lintels and sills, and boxed cornice with partial returns. The garage/guest house is also included as a contributing building in the historic district.

Family History

Known as the Ramming House, our featured home was originally owned by L.H. Ramming, a picture framer, and his wife Augusta. They resided here with their eight sons. The Ramming family also owned the bungalow next door at 2711 9th St.
