Family History

Dr. Roy A. Hamilton purchased this home about 1934, taking over the practice of Dr. Waite. Dr. Hamilton was an osteopath who had his medical office and residence in the home. He shared the beautiful Italianate with his wife Bertha, and four children, Eugene, Ruth, Mildred and Ray.

As one of 11 children, Hamilton worked hard to earn his medical degree from the Kirksville School of Ostepathy under Dr. A. T. Still, the father of osteopathy

Dr. Hamilton practiced his profession right up until his death at age 84 in 1966.
