Located on a corner lot is this impressive circa 1880 Italianate. The nine-over-nine windows, the door windows that open onto the front porch, the front door with sidelights and transom call my name. When we enter and see the brick fireplace, natural woodwork and that stairway to heaven, we are a goner.

The ivy growing on the side of the house has got to go, though. I planted ivy in my garden at the side of my house, but had to trim it back every couple of months because it liked to spread under the siding, through the basement windows and even into the basement. Very bad for the house. I finally tore it out.
