Family History
The Peck family owned this home from the date it was built in 1886 to 1959. George Frances Peck (1847-1943) owned the home with his wife, Annie Cole Peck (1849-1948). George owned a china shop and owned the home free and clear. He was also a vestryman at the Swedish church. The couple had two children, Walter and Margaret, and Walter inherited the home after his parents died.
Walter was the owner of a news magazine called The Criplist. He married Elizabeth Yager (1974 – 1949) in 1917. and the couple had no children. Walter continued to live in the home with a housekeeper until his death in 1959.
