History

The original Volin State Bank was built on this site in the early 1900s when Volin was thriving.

In 1920, the structure was demolished in order to begin construction of this bigger and better building with cream colored structure with tiled floors began. The bank failed in 1929, however, during the Great Depression.  In the early 1930s, the city purchased the property and leased it out to the public library and various banks, the most recent CorTrust Bank.
