Here’s your chance to renovate your very own spacious Old West End diamond in the rough, circa 1916! Lots of early 20th century character: fireplace with leaded glass cabinets, original woodwork and doors throughout, hardwood floors upstairs, main floor sunroom at the front, and upstairs enclosed porch at the back with dual entrances. There’s even a walk-up attic that could be converted to additional living space. Live here, rent, or flip.

Wow, that is a gorgeous house! I considered Toledo in 2019 when looking for my own old house under 50K. Old West End is a very desirable neighborhood. It has a cohesive identity, and homeowners living there take an active interest in making sure the neighborhood is safe and clean. At the time I was househunting, Old West End had its own website and calendar of events. One challenge I found they were having was garbage piled up around trashcans; it was one of those “keep the neighborhood clean” issues. Old West End was only partially gentrified and only partially occupied by homeowners, so I think that caused some friction. If I were househunting in Toledo, today Old West End would definitely be at the top of my wishlist.
