Located about 45 minutes northeast of Augusta is this fixer upper in the small town Ridge Spring, South Carolina (pop. 727). From what I can ascertain, this was the house of Fletcher Gladstone Asbill (1868-1944), a physician, and his wife Miranda Dubois Asbill (1871-1860). They lived here with their sons David and Frank. Their first son, Fletcher Dubois, was stillborn. Their son David also became a physician in Columbia, South Carolina, but sadly drowned in 1970 at the age of 68. Rescue squads recovered his shortly before 2 am on a Sunday from a farm pond one mile south of Ridge Spring. Fletcher and Miranda lived in the home until their deaths.
