Family History
The only Mary Ball I could find in Sulphur Well, Kentucky, was born in 1922. In 1930, she was living with her grandparents Princeton Parish Tudor and Izora Alice Tudor and an unmarried aunt, June Tudor. Princeton and Alice had at least nine children, and one of them was a Lucy Tudor Ball, so it is confusing why Mary Ball was not living with her mother, Lucy Ball. At any rate, it seems that Princeton made his living as a farmer, and I am assuming this property may originally have been part of his farm, and was eventually handed dow to his granddaughter, Mary Ball.
Town
The Kentucky farmhouse for sale is in Sulphur Well, an unincorporated community located in Metcalfe County. The town is situated in the southern part of the state, about 90 miles southeast of Louisville.
Sulphur Well gets its name from a natural sulphur spring that was discovered in the area. The spring was believed to have healing properties, and it attracted visitors who sought the water for its supposed health benefits. Over time, a community developed around the spring, and Sulphur Well became a popular destination for those seeking the sulphur water.
Today, Sulphur Well remains a small, rural community with a few scattered homes and businesses. While the popularity of the sulphur spring has diminished over the years, the area still retains its natural beauty. Visitors can explore the surrounding countryside, enjoy outdoor activities, and experience the peacefulness of rural Kentucky.
