OHU50K NOTES
This fixer upper farmhouse for sale in Kingfield, Maine, is one of those properties where you can imagine yourself walking the acreage and falling in love.
Kingfield (pop. 997) is the gateway to Sugarloaf, the big ski resort. If you enjoy skiing and snowboarding, you might take advantage of the resort which is only 20 minutes away.
Note there are no photos of a kitchen and hardly one of a bath. The house needs a lot of work, but what potential! Due to its close proximity to Sugarloaf, perhaps, once restored, it could even be an AirBnB.
History
I am questioning the realtor’s 1916 build date. What do you think? According to the 1910 US Census, I believe Frank S. Tufts owned and worked the farm. He lived there with his wife Elsie, young daughter Velma and farm worker Joe Beaulieu. Frank was 32 years at the time and Elsie was only 18 with an 18 month-old daughter. They still worked the farm in 1920, but by 1930 had moved to a house on Main Street in Kingfield.
