History

According to Kopperl.org, the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway Company was chartered in 1873 by a group of Galveston merchants and businessmen seeking a direct connection to the Texas interior.  Construction began in 1875, and Kopperl became a regional shipping point.  Other Buildings shown in photos below are to show you what the town is like.
