Family History
The Lunsford family lived in this home for more than 55 years. Dr. Charles Benjamin Lunsford (1872-1953) was a “pioneer Blytheville physician.” In 1912, Charles married Sarah Walker (1884-1969) and built this beautiful house for his young bride. The couple never had any children, but housed a lodger or two over the years in their large home. The good doctor died in the home in July 1953 of a stroke. Sarah continued to live in the home until her death in 1969.
