Here is a cute little cottage in Carrollton, Kentucky. By the looks of the other more recent homes on either side of the side, I would guess that when the home was built in 1870, it had more land. Perhaps it was a small, self-sufficient farm in the late 18oos, early 1900s.. Carroll County was a delightful area of Kentucky back then. The northern boundry was formed by the Ohio River and land was fertile. Even today, the town of Carrollton is surrounded by miles and miles of open land until you drive closer to Kansas City which is about an hour and a half away.
