c.1872 Fixer Upper Second Empire in Belleville, IL Under $48K

OHU50K NOTES

This Second Empire was most likely originally originally owned by an educated German immigrant who came to this country after the German revolution. When the home was built in 1873, 90% of Belleville’s population were German born or of German descent.

The house was made with locally manufactured bricks, and although the neighborhood’s crime rate is not the greatest, the brick sidewalks, old-fashioned lamp posts and lovely, brick nearby homes make for an attractive section of  N. Charles Street. My question is, “What is all this 1990’s tile doing in these old gems lately?” I think this is the third one today.

REALTOR COMMENTS

This turn of the century gem has so much potential with the right investor and might even have potential to be a duplex with city approval. Almost 2700 square feet with massive living space, four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The main level offers two living rooms, a dining room, a bonus room, huge eat-in kitchen and a half bath. The upper level houses four large bedrooms and two full baths. This property could be restored to it’s former glory with a fair amount of elbow grease so call all your flippers today. CASH or CONVENTIONAL ONLY, SELLER TO PERFORM NO INSPECTIONS, BEING SOLD AS-IS.
