OHU50K NOTES
Was being used for a storage facility/work shop. One of the new uses suggested are condos. In my hometown of Cape May, a c.1916 Gothic Revival church on Franklin Street was converted into three condo units. They came out beautifully and can be rented on VRBO.com.
History
St. Mark’s Lutheran Church was built in 1879, likely with a steeple atop the tower. A 1906 document states that the brick Gothic Revival church had a 45-foot spire, but that was probably altered around the early part of the century. The church stands on the lot where the first building erected in Rohrersville once stood. The ground was purchased for $100 in 1879 and the 56″ x 33′ was constructed for $3,500. It had a seating capacity of 280. Of the 38 members of the original congregation, half were descendants of the Rohrer family, the founders of the area.
