According to the photos below, this was the Hoyte Memorial Presbyterian Church, established in 1887. Charter families were Williams, Toler, Johns, Causey and Barneys. The church was named for Reverend Dr. Hoyte. In April of 1935, the original wood frame church was destroyed by a tornado, and in November of the same year, the brick church was erected.
