History

In the 1920s and ’30s this home was rented to two families for $7.00/month each. Claude Davidson, a carpenter, lived here with his wife Ethel, and daughters Lorine and Lucille. Sadly, in 1926, their 4-year-old daughter, Onida, died from burns when her clothes accidentally caught on fire. Also renting the home was John Creech, a farm laborer, and his wife, Emma.

Inside

A neat, older home west of downtown Metter. Some special features include: original hardwood floors, bead board ceilings and walls in some rooms, three different mantle pieces, French doors, original exterior wood siding, and pretty filigree wooden shapes on the front porch and side porch. The rooms are: living room, dining room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, nice wide foyer, and back door sun room. A washer and dryer hook up are available in the spacious bathroom. The fireplaces are non-functional, but they could be very pretty center pieces in the rooms.

Outside

The driveway to the property is located on the east side of the house. There is no carport nor a garage, but plenty of room on the deep lot for parking or to build a carport. One out building will be a part of the purchase price. The house is a fixer-upper and is being sold, “As Is.” It has much potential to be brought back to life!!

Stunning mural (wallpaper?) in what looks like the dining room. Great layout. I would take baths back to original along with kitchen . Try to make those real fireplaces. Beautiful home 😍
