Family History
The Mowl Family owned this home from the 1950s to the 1970s. Mildred Tweedy Mowl (1894-1968) was a member of several clubs and organizations and loved hosting social events in her home. Her husband, James S. Mowl (1886-1976), whom she marries in 1912, also was active in the Masonic Lodge, professional and church organizations. The couple had three daughters, Mildred, Audrey and Maurine. Born in England, Mr. Mowl worked as a locomotive engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad for 46 years before retiring.
