Family History
Andrew Wicklund was the owner of this home for more than 45 years. Born in Varmland, Sweden, in 1867, he emigrated to the US in 1889 and opened a shoe store and repair shop before moving to this home in Ironwood in 1916 with his wife Anna. The couple had seven children, Elsie, Alfred, Edith, Harold, Leona, Edwin, and Carrie, but only the three youngest lived in this home. Andrew likely moved to Ironwood to take advantage of the great fishing and hunting nearby as he was an avid enthusiast of both sports. He died in 1962 at the age of 95,
