Family History

From about 1888 to almost 1930, his was the home of George Garrison (1852-1926) and his wife, Florence E. Garrison (1858-1929). The couple married in 1876 and had six children, Laura, Harry, Claud, Lonnie, Clarence and Pearl. George was a farmer who specialized in grain and hay. Florence was a member of the Ladies Aid Society who often hosted events at her home. Apparently, she owned a double-yellow head parrot who talked too much during these events, so she put an ad in the local newspaper to give him away.

In 1908, the Garrisons suffered the tragic death of their son Pearl who died in the home from a series of illness.
