OHU50K NOTES
What a house! It is a fixer upper, but the Queen Anne home is absolutely beautiful.
After a bit of research, I found that at least from 1900, the home was owned by Dr. William Albert Justice (1852-1922). The good doctor lived in the home for decades with his wife Francena and children Lee, Alma and Ella.
At the time of his death in 1922, Dr. Justice was one of the oldest practicing physicians in Hancock County. After a lengthy illness in which he became paralyzed, he in fact passed away in the bedroom of this residence.
As his obituary stated, “Doctor Justice was blessed with one of those jovial, happy dispositions which endeared him to all who came within the sphere of this delightful personality. He was a splendid citizen, kind, gracious, and sincere.”
