Realtor Comments
This Fixer Upper Property needs Saving. Beautiful Victorian Home with all the bells and whistles. The Main Floor has Most if not all original Fixtures. There is a Hole in the Roof that would need to be addressed Immediately. Main Floor is intact, Some Damage on 2nd Floor. 3rd Floor is Rough. Rumored to have been built by a Wayne County Judge for his daughter in 1850. Lots and Lots of TLC needed but worth the effort. Act quick, priced to sell.

Family History
The realtor’s story of the home being built by a judge for his daughter seems to only have a smidgeon of truth. Not the original owner, but likely the second or third owner was Judge William Converse. He was a Judge of City Court and a lawyer with his own practice who died prematurely from stomach cancer at the age of 43 in 1910. He owned the house with his wife Ada Blair Converse, and they lived here with their three children Blair, Maurine and Mary. Ada and the children were not able to maintain the home after the death of William so sold the house sometime before 1915.
