OHU50K NOTES
Save this old house. There is so much to appreciate about this c.1880 Mississippi home, but then again, there is so much work that this home requires.
The town is wonderful, though. It offers the perfect marriage of small town charm and big city culture. Water Valley is the quintessential small southern town where everybody knows your name, but it has a vibrant Main Street with great restaurants and an amazing art scene.
The town is also an architectural gem. Main Street was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, and Kimmons Street, along with Panola and Leland Streets, are filled with stunning homes from the late-1800s to early-1900s.
Unfortunately, number 413 is perhaps the worst house on the block. It has extensive water damage, and it appears that the Chip and Joanna Gaines shiplap syndrome has hit many of the walls. The shiplap would originally have been covered with plaster.
The property was originally listed at $85,000, but with the enormous amount of work required, I think the price still needs a drastic reduction. It is fun to take a visual through the rooms, though. The green tiled fireplaces are amazing. And did you notice the top cupboard of the old Hoosier?

REALTOR COMMENTS
Save this old house. Restore a Historic downtown Water Valley Home built in 1880. This 2360 sq. ft. home could be restored to it’s former glory and more! It sits on quaint historic Kimmons Street once known as Silk Stocking Street.
The seller had a new metal roof installed. The home features numerous original charming characteristics such as, ornate trim work, fireplaces, transoms, hardwood floors, and more. A master bath and more could be added. The upstairs could be built out. This house has good bones and features a root cellar and cistern. The court yard would be beautiful and inviting restored.
