OHU50K NOTES

Save this old house. Unlike train enthusiasts, you may not like living opposite railroad tracks, but you have to love the name of the town in which this foreclosure is located. ~ Prosperity. (Our second house is in rural Indiana near tracks, but we rather enjoy rocking on the front porch and watching the cars chug through.) Anyway, Prosperity certainly is a step up from the town’s former name ~ Frog Level. Frog Level was so named for it’s low-lying countryside with many ponds filled with large numbers of frogs. Interesting tidbit there. For a small town of 1,180 people it also spawned two major league baseball pitchers: Carl Edwards, Jr. of the Seattle Mariners ; and John Buzhardt who played for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, and Houston Astros, from 1958 through 1968.
Anyway, this c.1890 fixer upper sits on 1.9 acres on a street with some lovely older homes. The home has two kitchens, one with an unusual lighting fixture, and the property is just 35 minutes to Lake Murray, a jewel for fishing and boating.
