Save this old house. A reader asked if OHU50K would feature this home. We are happy to oblige, as it will take a very special someone to take on such a major project. It is evident that it was once a beautiful home, but time and neglect have taken its toll.
The neighborhood around the home is comprised of small bungalows likely built in the 1930s and 1940s. Our featured home looks out of place, so it occurs to me that perhaps the build date is earlier than 1912 and the home may have originally been set on more property. In any event, per the US Census, it appears that a young widow, Julia B. Ferguson, lived in this house with her daughters Caroline and Mildred, and Julia’s aunt, Maude Hardin, in 1940.
Save this old house. If you are looking for a home to make your own – YOU FOUND IT. This house has great bones, details, brick fireplaces. Needs total renovation. Can be made in SFR with your details OR transform into a duplex with one home on each level. There is plenty of room for your imagination to run wild. Current configuration would include 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 laundry rooms. Take this one and make it your own.
