This fixer upper lies in Mount Upton, a hamlet on the Unadilla River in the northeast part of Guilford Township. OHU50K featured this home in January 2019. Soon after, it went under contract, but apparently the deal fell through.
The original section of the house was built around 1850, but has seen several additions over the years. I especially like the sunroom with French doors (note the porcelain knobs) and beadboard ceiling. Additional highlights of the home include hardwood floors, fireplace, updated kitchen and baths, and that amazing built-in cupboard!
Except for the creepy basement, this fixer upper doesn’t look half bad. I’d take a look at the flood zones in the area before buying, though. The river is just a short distance from the house, and it has been known to flood.
