This c.1900 Macon, Georgia, handyman special was built by renowned architect Alexander Blair (1867-1931). In fact, it appears it was his private residence. In addition to designing this wonderful home, he built the Macon Opera House and eight Georgia county courthouses as well as countless other structures.
Blair was a member of a line of prominent architects, including his father and son. He also designed the First Christian Church of Macon (1898) at 1085 High Street in Macon. Blair’s original plans called for a tall belfry with spire at the left front and several smaller spires on the other towers. These plans, however, were altered prior to construction. You can see the church below.
Don’t miss your chance to own a piece of Macon’s history! This Napier Heights handyman special was designed and built by renowned southern architect Alexander Blair, who designed Macon’s Grand Opera House.
