$44,900 Reduced to $34,900 ~ Sold
OHU50K NOTES
OHU50K featured this beautiful Italianate a couple of mouths ago when we pleaded for someone to save this old house. Now this old house has a savior. The price was reduced, the home is now pending, and the new owner contacted me with their plans. She and her boyfriend are from California and are buying the fixer upper for their daughter. The boyfriend will be moving to Council Bluffs to do the work, and in two years mom plans to retire and relocate there after the house has been restored. The daughter, an artist, fell in love with the high ceilings which create tall walls to display her artwork. We look forward to her updates.
I found a Youtube video of the home, known as the A.B. Walker House, when it was on the market in June of 2015 and still had soul. I had to call my husband in to watch it to verify it was the same house! We both were so dismayed at viewing the degradation that occurred in just four years to this fine architectural specimen.
You have to see for yourself. I’ve included just a couple of before and after photos below, but here is the video.

Okay, who is the bonehead who disembodied this once gorgeous c.1870 brick Italianate in Council Bluffs, Iowa? I found a Youtube video of the home, known as the A.B.
