Seller Comments

We were so lucky to have found this trailer 4 years ago. We lived in this Silver Streak (we named it Sully!) for the first year we were married and loved every minute of it. It had been frequently used for vacationing by the owners before us, so it was consistently maintained and had portions of it updated, including new carpet, kitchen floors, and kitchen counters. We updated it–putting our own personal touch on things since we became the owners, and the plan was to someday give it a total overhaul, but as we have bought our house, our new priorities have left us without the time and passion to fully complete the things we would like to do. This is why we are looking to sell to someone who will appreciate this beautiful and fun home on wheels. Serious inquiries only please contact us.

The 1977 Silver Streak trailer is a vintage travel trailer known for its distinctive, polished aluminum exterior and durable construction. Similar in appearance to the Airstream, the Silver Streak was a popular choice among travel enthusiasts in the mid-20th century for its sleek, aerodynamic design and robust build.

Key Features of the 1977 Silver Streak Trailer:

  1. Exterior Design: The Silver Streak features a rounded, riveted aluminum body with a shiny, reflective finish. Its streamlined shape helps reduce wind resistance while towing, improving fuel efficiency. The exterior is durable and resistant to weather, giving the trailer its long-lasting appeal.
  2. Interior Layout: Inside, the 1977 Silver Streak is compact yet functional, with space-saving features that maximize the livability of the trailer. Common layouts include a small kitchen with basic appliances, a dining area that can convert into sleeping space, a bathroom with a shower, and a rear bedroom area. The use of wood paneling, vinyl flooring, and built-in cabinets reflects the style of the late 1970s.
  3. Quality Construction: Silver Streak trailers were built with a focus on quality and craftsmanship. The aluminum shell, combined with steel framing, gives the trailer structural integrity while keeping it lightweight enough for towing by most vehicles of the time.
  4. Utility Systems: The trailer comes equipped with a basic electrical system, propane-powered stove and heating, and water storage tanks for off-grid camping. Many models from 1977 would have manual systems, though some may have been upgraded over the years.
  5. Vintage Appeal: Today, Silver Streak trailers from the 1970s have a cult following among vintage trailer enthusiasts. They are often restored and refurbished for modern use, while still maintaining their classic charm.

The 1977 Silver Streak combines retro style, durability, and practical design, making it a treasured collectible for those who enjoy vintage RVs and the nostalgic appeal of mid-century travel trailers.
