A short story on why you should own a bus:

What can you really say about a bus? Except, that it’s where all of your first epic childhood memories started? Think about it… if you are anything like me, you probably spent a lot of time on a bus as a kid. Back and forth, to and from school five days a week. Riding a school bus was the first “social” interaction of the day. Talking and laughing with all of those kids from your neighborhood, getting yelled at by the bus driver to “sit down” and to “stop all that noise”, learning to sleep with your head banging against the glass of the window as the bus moved steadily along. Riding on a bus was also time spent headed out on your first field trips, (probably your first time traveling without your parents to somewhere you’ve never been). And cooler still, remember time spent on the road heading towards summer camps, (which were essentially the first weeks of vacation of your life spent trying to find a way to spend time with that super cute girl you know you where solely going on the trip for)… Yes, busses were the ships on which we took our first voyages. The horses we strode in upon to slay our first dragons. And for many of us, the private limousines that chaffered us to see our first “loves” at school. Busses take you on an adventure, and this one is ready to take you there. – Source

I spent part of my childhood living full time in a school bus my mother converted to a mobile home. Her design was genius. Her bed was a foldout couch that served as part of the living room by day. My brother and I slept in a bunkbed in the back of the bus; a wall separating our bedroom area doubled as the kitchen’s pot rack. Our grandmother’s old steamer trunk was our closet/dresser. The bus did not have a bathroom, but had a sort of a porta-pottie contraption. Back then, I saw nothing wrong with that. As an adult, if I had this living arrangement today, I would not find the absence of a bathroom acceptable in a primary residence. I think the folks who designed this schoolbus/mobile home did a fantastic job. It’s all very spacious, airy, and elegant. I love the skylight.
