History

Detective George Washington lived here in the 1970s. The former narcotics detective certainly did not live up to his namesake as he was charged with bribery and theft by extortion.  He received $800 from the wife of a drug dealer for not executing the man’s warrant. The wife paid the $800, but reported Washington to internal affairs.
