Family History

From the 1890s to the 1980, this was the Gleason family home. James H. Gleason (birth unknown – 1921) was born in Ireland, came to Oswego and was naturalized at age 36. He married his wife Margaret in 1893 and soon after purchased this home. James was the owner of a saloon. The family lived in the home with their children, Katherine, Margaret, James, Thomas, William, Henry and John and another daughter. Mother Margaret died in the home in 1958, but Katherine, who never married,  continued to reside there until her death in 1980.
