OHU50K NOTES
This church for sale in Dexter, Maine, is one of 6,000 to 10,000 churches in America that close doors each year. Before it became an antique shop, it was the Seventh Day Adventist church. Originally, however, the building was the Episcopal Church of Dexter built in 1872. We have no date as to when Episcopal services were discontinued, but Rev. LeBaron W. Fowler became rector in 1890 and resigned in 1895. This may have been the last Episcopalian pastor to conduct services at this church.
Take a good look at the beautiful stained glass windows then the antiques strewn about the rectory. Any remaining inventory at the time of the sale is included.
