Looking for a historical restoration project? This wonderful home is just waiting for that certain buyer (you would be only the fourth different owner, as the home was in the same family from 1864-2007, most of the contents still in the home are from that family) that is looking to restore a home built in 1839-1840, with an addition added in the 1890’s! Known as the Hause House, this home currently has 6 bedrooms (one on 1st floor ((with a separate exterior entrance door, this room was used years ago as an insurance office)), all others are on 2nd floor), 2 full baths, along with a large formal entry, parlor, formal dining room, a second (back) stairway, one of the 2nd floor bedrooms is currently a partial kitchen/living room, but could easily have a wall built creating a 7th bedroom, or use the larger room as a media room, play room, family room, options are limited only by your imagination. The next buyer will only be the 3rd or 4th owner of this home as it spent many generations with the previous family, and it has the contents to show! Home comes with all contents, including antique dressers & bedframes dating back to the 1880’s, tables, chairs, odds and ends, and an attic filled with history, and an old wooden cistern (attic is large enough to be able to finish into a Master Suite or ???). This home does need work and is not livable in it’s current condition. Hot water heat and water have been off for at least ten years, but the home has some beautiful, and unique, cast iron radiators, including one in the dining room that includes a rare pie/plate warmer! Home also comes with a 71 page report prepared by an EMU Restoration Class on recommended restoring techniques for the home completed in 2012! Light fixtures are limited on the first floor, strongly urge bringing flashlights for night time showings!
