Family History
The Roy Rowlan home was built in 1880 by Professor James McQuilkin (1842-1905) , a district and county school superintendent. He lived here with his wife Mary, and children, Mary, John, Frank, James and Jennie.
Before Betty and Roy Rowlan purchased the home in 1960, the home was last occupied by James Kissell, Sr, and his son Andrew, one of the first organizers of Beleville’s first Library Society.
Betty and Roy Rowlan enjoyed the home for many years, and furnished it lovingly with antiques.
