handyman special for sale in North Carolina

Cheapish c.1882 Italianate/Queen Anne Handyman Special For Sale in North Carolina on 1.15 Acres Under $75K

OHU50K Notes $74,900

On a street of magnificent historic homes is this historic handyman special for sale in North Carolina. The foreclosure is a gem with five bedrooms, three baths.

The profusion of decorative millwork on the exterior of the large T-plan frame N.B. Josey House makes it the finest surviving local example of a combination of the Italianate and Queen Anne styles. Capping the house is a patterned, polychrome slate roof with intersecting gables. Each of the gables has an elaborate ornament with turned and sawn elements, including a spindle sunburst. The graceful, one-story porch is embellished with turned posts and balusters, a spindle frieze, fancy brackets, and jigsawn pieces below the frieze. A variety of styles can be found on the interior finish, including the still-serviceable Greek Revival and Italianate modes for several mantels. – Per National Register of Historic Place
