OHU50K NOTES
This sweet brick cottage is located in the Avondale neighborhood of Muncie, Indiana. At the beginning of the 20th century, families moved to this area from Appalachian regions to find work in the factories in Muncie. Homes were well-kept and social events were aplenty until many of the factories closed, leading to a neighborhood decline. Recently, neighborhood groups have been formed, helping to make Avondale a more desirable place to live.
Family History
This was the home of Heber Mercer (1887-1949) in the 1920s and ’30s. Heber, a newspaper carrier, lived here with his wife Freda and children Jual and John. Freda helped make ends meet by dressmaking and tailoring, but sadly she passed away in 1935 at the age of 45. The family who subsequently purchased the home may have had job loss as described above, because loads of newspaper ads were taken out for rummage sales and sale of furnishings, clothes, etc, at this address in the 1960s and ’70s.

I really like this home. What are the job s like there? Economy? The neighborhood? Churches are there?
Also, why is there not a picture of the stove and refrigerator area?
Crime rate?
